Randomly browsing through Facebook News Feeds, I came across the most intriguing indie movie trailer I’ve seen all year. It was Garrett DeHart’s thesis film project for the Georgia State University Film & Video Grad program. Still in production, Garrett uploaded a sneak peak trailer onto Kickstarter.com to generate more money to finish up production and continue non-stop on post-production.
http://www.kickstarter.com/ is a web server allowing artists to upload their project ideas and samples in hope that others will invest in their work. Using their website as an outlet for marketing and production funding is a great way for filmmakers, musicians, and other artists to keep investors, fans & friends up-to-date on their production progress.
Here is the trailer Director Garrett DeHart uploaded onto the Kickstarter website:

Amazing right???
I decided to go out and help my fellow filmmaker friends, Steven Swigart, the Director of Photography of the film, and Chris Escobar who worked as the jib operator when I was there (but knowing him, I’m sure he was involved in the production way more than just camera operating).
Although I missed being on set at the same time as talented actor, Larry Holden, (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0390227/), I still had tons of fun shooting behind the scenes stills of the cast and crew excitedly collaborating together.

Shane Morton’s make up has a definite style to it. I dig it.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Great job to Garrett, Imoto, the cast, crew and everyone involved. This is an excellent BTS piece. Well edited and filmed. Kudos!
Such a fantastic project – i can’t wait to see the final product.
I am really excited to see how this comes out. It looks fantastic and I am a big an of indie films.
TOP QUALITY WORK! This came out great! Garrett should play this at the wrap party and before the film at the premiere…and include it on the DVD.
Also, you should put together a little one-page pdf and/or have a small page on your site that describes the cost of someone hiring you for this service, what it would include and what the average turn around time would be. Keeping it all up front will take that assumptions out, and would result in more work.
Keep it up!!
Very interested
Never knew this, regards for letting me know
Thanks for the share!
